23 July: Over 20 non-working rural women from Chetpet and Thousand Lights participated in a workshop conducted by WCC, which taught them how to make soap and hair oil, promoting women’s entrepreneurship. The workshop was organised by Dr Angeline Sridevi, Faculty from Plant Biology and Plant Biotechnology with help from 14 Eco Club members.
The workshop provided practical training, covering the basics of eco-friendly formulation, packaging, and marketing. Participants received starter kits and guidance on turning these skills into small-scale business ventures. The event reflects the club’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, self-reliance and social impact.
