Clubs Sparkle with Dance, Drama & Music.
Phailin Jerusha S, III BA English
Senior DRAMUDA, WCC’s annual cultural event, was held on July 21, 2025. The event brought together all the seniors from the different clubs on campus for a colourful evening of dance, drama, and music. The event saw performances from 12 clubs. It was a celebration of student talent and a way to inspire juniors to join the clubs in the upcoming auditions.
The evening started with a prayer led by the Chapel Committee, followed by a welcome speech by Janice, II Computer Science. A badge ceremony was held next, where coordinators and assistant coordinators of clubs were honoured by the Vice Principal of WCC.
Sharon Merlena, III English, opened the show with a powerful song. Sarah Thomas, also from the same class, took the stage next and narrated a poem written by herself, capturing the spirit of creativity and college life.
The Indian Dance Club performed Bharatanatyam, celebrating Indian culture. The French Club sang sweet harmonies in French. The Indian Music Club showcased classic Indian tunes. The WCC Choir performed “Speechless” from Aladdin, leaving the crowd in awe. The Literary & Debate Club acted out a skit.
The Fusion Dance Club mixed Indian and Western styles, while the Western Music Club brought in pop and jazz beats. The Pragati Club danced with pride in Hindi. The Tamil Literary and Debate Club presented a vibrant dance, featuring a powerful solo by Divya, II English. The Western Dance Club closed the event with a high-energy mix of rock, pop, and breakdance.
Swetha, II Physics, gave the vote of thanks, appreciating the clubs, coordinators, and faculty for their support.
Student Voice
“Senior DRAMUDA is more than an event. It shows how clubs bring us together. It’s where fun, creativity, and friendship meet.” - Ghobhigha, Cultural Secretary, Student Senate.
Message from the Choir Coordinator
“College can be exciting for some and nerve-wracking for others. Will I find my kind of people? Will I fit in? These are some of the questions you are probably asking yourself. The first year can be bizarre. It was like that for me too. The best thing I did was join a club I knew I could have fun in. I’ve always loved singing in choirs. So, when I joined WCC, I joined the choir right away. Hands down, the best decision I’ve made. I have the best memories. A lot of things happened, but whenever we had practice, I always felt better afterwards. My advice to you would be to find out what you love doing and join a club. There’s something for everyone at WCC. And as the coordinator for the choir, if you’re someone who can sing, you know where to go.” – J Johanna, III Computer Science.

The event wrapped up by 1:30 PM for Shift I students, leaving the campus buzzing with echoes of laughter, claps, smiling faces, unforgettable performances, and a sense of unity created by a memorable afternoon.
