A blend of creativity and cadence on World Music Day.

Students brought music to life on 27th June as they kicked off a joyful celebration to mark World Music Day, bringing alive their classrooms and corridors with vibrates, creative outfits and live performances.
This occasion was organised by the Student Senate’s Cultural Committee, with the theme “Dress as Your Favorite Music Genre.” This event encourages students to express themselves through their outfits, with artistic creativity and individuality, showcasing their love for music which includes rock, hip-hop, classical, latin and electronic dance music or EDM.
“I thoroughly enjoyed the Day, an event specially organised to celebrate World Music Day by blending music with fashion, and bringing creativity to life on campus,” says Sajina, a II year student from the Department of English and a Senator.
The main highlight of the day came during the break, as the Western Music Club (WMC) members gave a live performance in front of Doveton Block. Students gathered to watch this mini concert, clicking pictures, singing along, uplifting the celebration - turning break time into a melodious memory.

Hip-Hop dominated the theme, as most students rocked by coming in oversized outfits, chunky accessories, chains and caps. Latin followed closely - with students wearing ruffled frocks and vibrant floral prints and exhibiting great dance energy. A few students adopted the Rock aesthetic with leather jackets and Band tees, while others turned to the elegance of Classical music or the boldness of EDM.

After this successful Campus Day, students look forward to upcoming events like, Food Fair, Festeve and Sports Day.
