The Trojan Horse from WCC

On the 9th of September, students from the Department of English, WCC, attended ‘Athena’, an event hosted by the PG Department of English at Ethiraj College. It is an inter-collegiate literary and cultural festival held annually, in which our students enthusiastically participate every year.


In an intense battle of minds, creativity as well as beauty, our girls did not leave the field empty handed. They participated in the quiz competition with over sixty students from colleges all over Chennai. The topic was Greek mythology. In the Cosplay category, the participants from WCC cosplayed Greek goddesses for the topic, “Underrated Greek goddesses and their representation in Greek mythology”. Jenisha (III BA) was Psyche, Thanga Lakshmi (III BA) was Cassandra, Charu Prisha (III BA) was Camilla, Zebiah (III BA) was Electra, Nivedhiga (II BA) was Athena, Abhinaya (II BA) was Penelope, and Sharon (III BA) was Iphigenia. They won second place in this event.

Jeffrin (II BA) won the second place for Spin a Yarn. In the Creative Writing category, the participants from WCC were required to write on the topic, “If Mount Olympus was a school/university in modern times”. Mathangi (III BA) participated in the Photography competition, the topic of which was “Celestial Cityscape”, and won the second prize for her entry.

Our girls also won second place in the event, Shipwrecked, on the theme, "Elysium - immortality is written, not granted". Jessica Olivia (III BA) Jessica Olivia (III BA) participated in the online event, Comic Strip, based on the theme "Mythological Characters in Modern Life”.
