The College celebrates legacy of women’s empowerment through faith and education.

📅 July 7, 2025: Women’s Christian College celebrated its 110th anniversary with a solemn and spirit-filled Thanksgiving Service at Lucy Peabody Auditorium, Centenary Block at 10:30 am, honouring the rich legacy of women’s empowerment over a century.
“This is not just a celebration—it is a reflection of our journey of faith, vision, and purpose.”- Dr. Lilian I. Jasper, Principal and Secretary, WCC.
📚 The ceremony featured key moments such as the launch of the commemorative book Being the Light, the inauguration of the new Emily E Wills Block, and the unveiling of an RO plant gifted by the alumnae, symbolising WCC’s commitment to progress while remaining rooted in tradition.
The day opened with prayer by Dr. Esther Arul Mary, College Chaplain. The Principal Dr. Lilian I Jasper welcomed the audience and spoke about Being the Light, a special coffee table book chronicling the achievements of a number of WCC’s distinguished alumnae from 1915 to the present.

🎶 The student choir offered a moving rendition of So Much to Be Thankful For, setting the mood for reflection.
📖 Mr. J S Anbu, Treasurer, WCC Association, read a Scripture passage focusing on leadership and legacy.
🗣️ Pastor Joseph Naveen from Awakening Ministries offered an inspirational talk, drawing on the biblical imagery of memorial stones as lasting symbols of thankfulness and grace. He reminded the gathering of the unseen hands and anonymous gifts that have carried the college through its 110-year journey.

The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Sherrie Jesulyn David, Vice Principal of WCC, who acknowledged all those who contributed to making the celebration meaningful.
🕰️ The Thanksgiving Service concluded on a high note with the gathering singing the Alma Mater, a symbol of WCC’s enduring mission and legacy.
